The Big Night

Tuesday June 3rd was a Big Night for me. I was recognized at the World Affairs Council of Charlotte Banquet. A Wonderful evening of beautiful dresses, handsome tuxes, delicious food, and good wine. As I was introduced, my picture was shown on 2 huge screens for the about 500 people in attendance to see and the MC shared about my upcoming trip to Vienna and Sarajevo that their $2500 helped pay for. I was one of 7 teachers chosen from 5 counties around Charlotte to receive the award. While I was walking back to my seat many people shook my hand and congratulated me. I felt beautiful, and even had a Cinderella moment. Though I didn't loose my whole shoe, as I was walking to the stage I felt this flapping, I quickly reached down and the sole of my shoe came off. Sad to say there was no Prince Charming. Thanks to my dear friend Jean Peach I can share these pictures with you.
